Crucial App Concepts is seeking crowdfunding to translate and revamp the 2006 “Brigandine: Grand Edition” video game originally released exclusively in Japan.
KATY, TEXAS—Mobile app development company Crucial App Concepts is unofficially bringing the video game “Brigandine: Grand Edition” to its English-speaking fans through translation, transcription, and dubbing of the original. The company has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $7,500 by June 30 to complete the English translation.
Originally released exclusively in Japan, “Brigandine: Grand Edition”will now be enjoyed by a broader audience. Crucial App Concepts plans to use the crowdfunding to fully translate quests, menus, weapons and armor, characters and spells, and all game videos and battle scenes with professional dubbing.
The company also plans to create a new online community web site to bring together fans of the revived game. “I am excited to bring this fan favorite game to a more international audience,” said Phillip Emmons, owner of Crucial App Concepts. “Our $7,500 goal will make this a reality, but if we collect $20,000 we will continue to develop the game so that players can enter multi-player games from our servers.”
Crucial App Concepts has already launched the web site www.BrigandineReborn.com for fans to get modifications, new content, new languages, new opportunities, and new forums. Contributors to the crowdfunding campaign will receive perks and a special opportunity to be a part of the translation process. “We will be taking fan auditions to voice our high quality dubbing,” said Emmons. “Priority will be given to crowdfunding contributors.”
Other contributor perks include an opportunity to play early test version, a Fan Fic Character creation, and personalized in-game armor or weapon. Donors giving $2,500 will receive 100 percent game design assistance to create their own game, and donors giving $5,000 will receive unlimited game currency in all future Crucial App games. Those contributing $12,500 will receive their own fully developed two-dimensional game while those contributing $25,000 will receive their own fully developed three-dimensional game.
